About Us

History
Montessori School Villa Park Infant RoomMontessori Children's Academy was founded in 1983 by the Iate Mrs. Chibi L. Teng. Mrs. Teng devoted her entire life and gave her profound love to caring for and educating young children. Montessori Children's Academy is an independent, privately operated school dedicated to providing a warm, secure, rich environment for infants 6 weeks old through 6 year olds. We emphasize the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of the child.

Our goal is to nurture curious young children and provide opportunities to develop a positive attitude toward learning. Montessori Children's Academy is based on a solid academic foundation in education, employing the philosophy, methods, and materials developed by Dr. Maria Montessori.

Philosophy
Montessori School Villa Park Toddler RoomIt is our belief that each child is a unique individual with his/her own special needs and background experiences. Our goal is to help children develop into independent, self-disciplined, and responsible life-long learners. We believe that children are intrinsically motivated; we want to foster their confidence and competence in learning. We value diversity; our school includes children and staff from many different races and backgrounds.

The foundation for Montessori education is respect for one's self, for each other, and for the environment. Self-confidence and healthy self-esteem are nurtured within a carefully prepared environment of mutual respect .

Montessori Children's Academy is licensed by the Department of Children's and Family Services, registered with the Illinois State Board of Education, and a member of the American Montessori Society, and Association of Illinois Montessori Schools. All staff members are infant/child CPR and First-Aid certified.

Safety is a priority for our school. Our doors remain locked with security access available only for enrolled families.
